Europa ICONS

The NASA Europa Clipper ICONS (Inspiring Clipper: Opportunities for Next-Generation Scientists) program will pair Europa Clipper science team members with undergraduate students for a 10-week research experience during which the students will perform original scientific research.

ICONS pays the selected interns for housing, relocation travel to the place of host institution, travel to the end of term meeting in Boulder, CA, and a generous stipend.  Interns will work with a Clipper Science Team member on NASA science.  Any undergraduate STEM major is elegible to apply to the ICONS program who is a US citizen.

Mentors and interns will convene July 28–30, 2026 for a mini conference at the University of Colorado, Boulder, to build relationships and to present the work completed over the summer. Interns will get a $12,000 stipend; travel costs will be paid for by NASA.

Applications are due February 27, 2026.
