2024 NEVADA SPACE GRANT AND NASA EPSCoR STATEWIDE MEETING

Welcome

The 2024 Nevada NASA Programs Hybrid Statewide Meeting will be held on April 19, 2024 at the Desert Research Institute’s Las Vegas Campus (755 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119).  Plenary sessions will be held both in person and virtually. Poster competition will not be virtual this year. On the registration form, please select whether you plan to attend in person or virtually.

The Statewide Meeting will include oral and poster presentations featuring research results of Nevada NASA EPSCoR and Nevada NASA Space Grant funded projects as well as a keynote address.  The objective of this meeting is to share Nevada NASA research findings and outcomes, stimulate collaborations and discussions and plan for upcoming activities.

Attendees

Attendees will include all individuals who have received NASA research project awards from the Nevada NASA Space Grant and Nevada NASA EPSCoR in 2023 as well as affiliates and advocates of the programs. All Nevada NASA project faculty and students, who are able, are expected to attend. Registration is required by April 5, 2024.

Hotel Amenities:

Free breaksfast, free internet access, on-site restaurant, fitness center and pool. Check-in time 3:00 pm and check-out time 12:00 pm.

Shuttle Transportation 

On Friday, April 19, 2024, a shuttle will be provided from Hyatt Place to DRI in the morning. A shuttle will also be available in the afternoon to drop off at Harry Reid Airport at the end of the sessions. 

We are NOT providing a shuttle from the airport to the Hyatt Place or DRI, so please make alternate arrangements.

Student Poster Presentation

All students participating in research funded by the Nevada Space Grant are strongly encouraged to attend the annual meeting and provide a research poster presentation. A poster session will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 so that students may share their research with everyone in attendance. If you wish to participate in the poster session, please provide a headshot and abstract by Friday, April 5, 2024.

Poster Session Eligibility: Students currently enrolled within a Nevada institution of higher education are eligible to participate in the poster session. All participants may submit posters; however, only in-person attendees are eligible to compete.
